Fatal Crash in Benton County Claims Life of Becker First Grade Teacher Amanda Nieman
On March 5, a tragic two-vehicle collision in Benton County, Minnesota, resulted in the death of 31-year-old Amanda Nieman, a cherished first grade teacher at Becker Public Schools in Milaca. The Benton County Sheriff’s Office reported that the crash occurred around 4 p.m. on Ronneby Road Southeast near Foley, where snowy, icy road conditions and strong winds played a significant role. Nieman, who was driving home from work, lost control of her vehicle and collided with a car driven by 43-year-old Margaret Henry. Despite the efforts of first responders, who found Nieman trapped in her vehicle with severe injuries, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Margaret Henry and her eight-year-old passenger sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to St. Cloud Hospital for treatment. Authorities have confirmed that no signs of impairment were observed in either driver, highlighting the treacherous weather as a key factor in this heartbreaking incident.
