Fatal Crash in Commerce, Oklahoma Claims Lives of Nicholas and Sharon Malpass

On the evening of Thursday, April 17, 2025, a tragic collision occurred on US69 at S580 Rd, approximately one mile east of Commerce, Oklahoma, claiming the lives of two Miami, Oklahoma residents. The incident, reported just after 8:45 p.m., involved a 2010 Ford F150, driven by a 16-year-old female from Miami, and a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by 45-year-old Nicholas L. Malpass, with 44-year-old Sharon L. Malpass as his passenger. Nicholas was pronounced deceased at the scene by Quapaw Nation EMS, while Sharon, transported by Air Evac, was pronounced deceased en route to the hospital.

The young driver of the Ford F150 sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to Miami Integris Hospital by personal vehicle, while her 16-year-old female passenger, also from Miami, emerged uninjured. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol’s traffic homicide unit is actively investigating the cause of this devastating crash, though no additional details have been released at this time.
