Fedora Formuzal Dies in Cedar Lake Township Crash

On April 28, 2025, at approximately 5:10 PM, a fatal three-vehicle crash occurred at the intersection of Southbound Highway 13 and East 247th Street in Cedar Lake Township, Scott County, Minnesota. The incident involved a 2012 Ford Escape and a 2021 Ford Explorer traveling southbound on Highway 13, and a 2014 Hyundai Sonata traveling eastbound on 247th Street. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the Ford Escape collided with the Hyundai Sonata in the intersection, causing the Sonata to subsequently strike the Ford Explorer. The crash occurred under wet road conditions, which may have contributed to the collision, though alcohol was not a factor.

The driver of the Hyundai Sonata, 70-year-old Fedora Isabelle Formuzal of Cedar Lake Township, was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash and sustained fatal injuries. She was transported to Saint Francis Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. The other drivers, 48-year-old Darren Wendell Iverson and 18-year-old Jordin Isabelle Gummert, both of Cedar Lake Township, were wearing seatbelts and sustained non-life-threatening injuries, requiring no hospitalization.
