Fatal Crash in Cedar Lake Township: Jordin Gummert Involved in Tragic Accident
On April 28, 2025, at approximately 5:10 PM, a devastating fatal crash occurred at the intersection of Southbound Highway 13 and East 247th Street in Cedar Lake Township, Scott County, Minnesota. The incident involved three vehicles: a 2012 Ford Escape, a 2021 Ford Explorer, and a 2014 Hyundai Sonata. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the Ford Escape and Ford Explorer were traveling southbound on Highway 13, while the Hyundai Sonata was moving eastbound on 247th Street. The Ford Escape collided with the Hyundai Sonata in the intersection, causing the Sonata to subsequently strike the Explorer. The crash took place under wet road conditions, contributing to the severity of the event.
The driver of the Hyundai Sonata, 70-year-old Fedora Isabelle Formuzal of Cedar Lake Township, was not wearing a seatbelt and suffered fatal injuries. She was transported to Saint Francis Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased. The driver of the Ford Explorer, 18-year-old Jordin Isabelle Gummert, also of Cedar Lake Township, sustained non-life-threatening injuries but did not require hospitalization. Similarly, the driver of the Ford Escape, 48-year-old Darren Wendell Iverson of Cedar Lake Township, sustained minor injuries and did not need medical transport.
