Gerard Tuma Dies in Lakeville Semi-Truck Collision

On July 18, 2025, at approximately 10:30 a.m., a fatal collision occurred on Dodd Boulevard, south of County Road 70, in Lakeville, Minnesota. The Lakeville Police Department responded to reports of a two-vehicle crash involving a GMC Sierra and a semi-truck. Investigators determined that the GMC Sierra was stationary on the right shoulder of northbound Dodd Boulevard when it was rear-ended by the semi-truck. The driver of the GMC Sierra, identified as 68-year-old Gerard Paul Tuma by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner, was transported to a nearby hospital but did not survive his injuries.The semi-truck driver received medical treatment at the scene and was subsequently released. Authorities noted no evidence of chemical impairment in connection with the semi-truck driver. The Minnesota State Patrol provided support to the Lakeville Police Department at the scene. The investigation into the incident remains active.
