James Philips Involved in Traffic Accident on I-35 in Duluth

On June 4, 2025, at approximately 8:27 AM, a traffic accident occurred on northbound I-35 at Highway 535 in Duluth, St. Louis County, Minnesota. The incident involved a truck and a Camaro, resulting in non-life-threatening injuries to one of the drivers. According to the incident report (ICR: 25271064), the truck, driven by Scott Douglas Fox, 66, of Superior, Wisconsin, crashed into the rear of the Camaro, driven by James Edward Griffin Phillips, 52, of Duluth, Minnesota, after the Camaro slowed in the construction zone zipper merge.

Phillips sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Essentia Health for treatment. Fox did not report any injuries. The road conditions at the time of the accident were dry, and Mayo Ambulance was the outside agency involved.
