Jody Lee Killed in DUI Crash in Oklahoma City
On June 4, 2025, at approximately 5:30 a.m., a head-on collision occurred on 84th Street and Western Avenue in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, resulting in the death of Jody Dewayne Lee, 52. The Oklahoma City Police Department (OCPD) reported that the crash was caused by Terry Jones, 19, who was driving under the influence. Jones was traveling southbound on South Western Avenue when he crossed left of center, entering the northbound lanes and striking Lee's vehicle head-on. Lee was transported to the hospital but was pronounced deceased due to injuries sustained in the crash.
Jones, who had no driver’s license and exhibited signs of intoxication, refused testing. A warrant was obtained for his blood, and he was booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center. He faces charges of First Degree Manslaughter, Driving Under the Influence, and Driving Left of Center Causing Accident Without Valid Driver’s License Resulting in Death. Western Avenue was closed following the incident and remained closed for an extended period.
