Joseph Tasa Norgaard Identified as Victim in Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Scott County, Minnesota – September 9, 2025

Authorities have confirmed the identity of a pedestrian who was fatally struck while working along a roadway in Scott County, Minnesota. Joseph Tasa Norgaard, 44, of Minneapolis, died at the scene after being hit by a Chevrolet Equinox on Texas Avenue near 230th Street East in New Market Township. The incident occurred just before noon on Monday.

According to the Scott County Sheriff’s Office, the driver, a 58-year-old man from Lonsdale, was traveling northbound when the collision occurred. Norgaard was engaged in survey work at the time of the crash. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with authorities. No signs of impairment were observed, and the Medical Examiner has classified the death as accidental.
