Justin Hunte Injured in Two-Vehicle Crash at Kankakee/Will County Line
On Sunday, May 25, 2025, at approximately 9:22 a.m., a two-vehicle collision occurred at the intersection of Illinois Route 1 and 12000N Road, on the Kankakee/Will County Line in Grant Park, Illinois. According to the Illinois State Police Troop 5, a 2006 Mazda Tribute, driven by 23-year-old Erin Kimball of Fairfield, was traveling westbound on 12000N Road and failed to stop at the intersection, resulting in a collision with a southbound 2014 Freightliner semitrailer operated by 48-year-old Justin Hunte of Momence. Both drivers sustained injuries and were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
The preliminary investigation by the Illinois State Police determined that Kimball’s failure to obey a stop sign was the cause of the crash. Kimball has been issued citations for disobeying a stop sign and operating an uninsured motor vehicle.
