Katelyn Loftus Injured in Two-Vehicle Collision on Highway 169 in Nicollet County

On April 17, 2025, at approximately 5:42 PM, a collision involving two vehicles took place on northbound Highway 169 at milepost 63 in Oshawa Township, Nicollet County, Minnesota. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2019 Dodge Challenger, driven by 27-year-old Jared Jerome Ries of Saint Peter, was traveling southbound when it lost control on the wet roadway, striking a concrete divider and partially entering the northbound lane. Simultaneously, a 2016 Jeep Cherokee, driven by 30-year-old Katelyn Rose Loftus, also of Saint Peter, was traveling northbound in the left lane and collided with the Challenger.

Both drivers sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were promptly transported to Rivers Edge Hospital by Rivers Edge Ambulance. The airbags in both vehicles deployed during the impact, and both individuals were wearing seat belts at the time of the incident. Authorities have confirmed that alcohol was a factor in the case of Katelyn Loftus, while no alcohol involvement was reported for Jared Ries. The wet road conditions are believed to have contributed to the Challenger’s loss of control.
