Kathleen Gallagher Involved in Collision on Highway 104

On April 28, 2025, a serious collision occurred on state Highway 104 at Center Loop Road in Washington state, involving two vehicles and resulting in injuries to both drivers. The incident took place at approximately 3:34 p.m. when Gale McGranahan, 78, of Port Townsend, driving a 2016 Honda Fit, attempted to turn left onto northbound Center Loop Road from eastbound Highway 104. Her vehicle collided with a 2015 Toyota Rav4 driven by Kathleen Gallagher, 81, of Sequim, who was traveling westbound on Highway 104. The impact caused both vehicles to partially block the westbound lane of Highway 104, prompting an immediate response from emergency services.

Both drivers were transported to hospitals for treatment following the accident. McGranahan was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where she was listed in satisfactory condition as of Tuesday, according to hospital spokesperson Susan Gregg. Gallagher was taken to St. Michael Medical Center in Silverdale. The Washington State Patrol confirmed that both drivers were wearing seat belts and that neither drugs nor alcohol were factors in the collision. The cause was determined to be a failure to yield, and both vehicles sustained severe damage, necessitating their removal from the scene by tow services.
