Katie Renelt Injured in Fatal Motorcycle Crash in Falcon Heights, Minnesota

Katie Jo Renelt, a 25-year-old resident of Scandia, Minnesota, sustained non-life-threatening injuries in a fatal motorcycle collision on August 28, 2025, in Falcon Heights. Renelt was a passenger on a 2018 Yamaha MT09 traveling northbound on Highway 51 when the motorcycle collided with a 2009 Volkswagen Touareg making a turn onto Garden Avenue. The driver of the motorcycle, 32-year-old Samuel Kelly Lewer of Coon Rapids, was killed in the crash.

Renelt was not wearing a helmet at the time of the incident. Emergency services from multiple jurisdictions, including Roseville Police and St. Paul Fire and EMS, responded to the scene. The road was dry, and no immediate evidence of alcohol involvement was reported. The investigation remains ongoing.
