Samuel Lewer Killed in Motorcycle Collision on Highway 51 in Falcon Heights, Minnesota

Samuel Kelly Lewer, age 32, of Coon Rapids, Minnesota, was fatally injured in a two-vehicle crash on the evening of August 28, 2025, in Falcon Heights. The incident occurred at approximately 10:21 PM when a 2018 Yamaha MT09 motorcycle, operated by Lewer, collided with a 2009 Volkswagen Touareg. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, the Volkswagen, traveling southbound on Highway 51, was attempting to turn east onto Garden Avenue when it was struck by Lewer’s northbound motorcycle.

Lewer was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash. A passenger on the motorcycle, Katie Jo Renelt, age 25, sustained non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the Volkswagen, Jessie Elizabeth Carlson, age 28, was uninjured. The road was reported dry, and alcohol involvement has not been confirmed. Local law enforcement and emergency services responded to the scene, including Roseville and St. Anthony Police Departments as well as St. Paul Fire and EMS. No additional details have been released pending further investigation.
