Lisa Westendorf Dies in Fatal ATV Crash in Cloquet, Minnesota

On the evening of Saturday, August 23, 2025, Lisa Westendorf, 48, of Cloquet, Minnesota, was killed in a side-by-side ATV accident on Ditch Bank Forest Road in Progress Township, Carlton County. The Carlton County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that Westendorf was one of two victims found deceased at the scene, the other being Glen Alan Burdick, 59, of Homestead, Iowa. Authorities believe Burdick was operating the vehicle at the time of the crash.

Preliminary reports indicate the ATV overturned into a water-filled ditch after the pair became separated from their group. Other riders discovered the wreckage and attempted resuscitation efforts, which were unsuccessful. The incident remains under investigation by the Carlton County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from multiple local and state agencies.
