Lynden School Bus Driver Annette Lyon Killed in Tragic Crash
On the morning of Thursday, May 1st, 2025, a tragic accident claimed the life of Annette Lyon, a cherished school bus driver for the Lynden School District in Lynden, Washington. The collision occurred just before 8 a.m. in the 2000 block of Main Street, where Lyon, operating Lynden School District bus No. 24, collided with a white SUV traveling in the opposite direction. Authorities have confirmed that no children were aboard the bus at the time of the incident, and Lyon was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the SUV was transported to PeaceHealth Medical Center in Bellingham for medical attention, while the Lynden Police Department continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding this devastating event.
