Motorcycle Crash on I-90 in Spokane Valley Sends Samantha Mickelson and Keli Hegel to Hospital

A serious motorcycle collision occurred April 4th, 2025, on Interstate 90 near the Sullivan exit in Spokane Valley, Washington, sending three individuals to the hospital. According to a news release from the Washington State Patrol (WSP), the incident took place just before 8 p.m. when 46-year-old Paul Krous, riding westbound, struck another motorcycle driven by 26-year-old Brant Schultz. The impact caused both drivers to lose control, resulting in injuries to Krous and his passenger, 35-year-old Samantha Mickelson, as well as Schultz’s passenger, 24-year-old Keli Hegel. The interstate was closed for over three hours as emergency responders attended to the scene, with all involved reported to be wearing U.S. Department of Transportation-compliant helmets.

Paul Krous was arrested on suspicion of vehicular assault following the crash and was transported to the hospital along with Samantha Mickelson. Brant Schultz emerged uninjured, while Keli Hegel required medical attention and was also taken to a nearby hospital. The Washington State Patrol continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision, which disrupted traffic flow along this busy stretch of I-90.
