Paula Bennett Injured in Four-Car Crash Near Loon Lake

On August 5, 2025, a four-vehicle collision occurred north of Loon Lake in Stevens County, Washington, resulting in injuries to Paula L. Bennett, a 60-year-old resident of Wenatchee. Bennett was driving a white 2014 Mercedes SUV southbound on U.S. Highway 395 when her vehicle was struck by a 2007 Dodge Caliber driven by 18-year-old Adelaide I. Stelly of Spokane. The Washington State Patrol reported that Stelly swerved to avoid a stopped 2012 BMW X3, clipping its rear end before veering into the southbound lane and colliding with Bennett’s Mercedes.Bennett was transported to Holy Family Hospital in Spokane for treatment. Stelly was also hospitalized at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. The drivers of the other two vehicles, including 17-year-old Abbymarie Harris of Spokane, were not injured. The Washington State Patrol determined that inattention caused the crash, with no evidence of drug or alcohol impairment. Two vehicles, including Bennett’s Mercedes, were totaled, and the incident remains under investigation.
