Peter and Patricia Olson Killed in Head-On Collision on Highway 56 in Randolph, Minnesota

A fatal two-vehicle crash occurred at approximately 11:01 AM on September 6, 2025, on Highway 56 just north of the Cannon River in Randolph, Dakota County, Minnesota. According to the Minnesota State Patrol, a 2016 Dodge Ram was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes when it collided head-on with a 2019 GMC Terrain that was properly traveling southbound in its designated lane. Road conditions were reported as dry at the time of the incident.

The driver of the GMC Terrain, 68-year-old Peter Foxvong Olson of Apple Valley, Minnesota, and his passenger, 49-year-old Patricia Ann Olson, also of Apple Valley, both sustained fatal injuries and were pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the Dodge Ram, identified as 28-year-old Seth John Nechville of Kenyon, was transported to Regions Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Alcohol was confirmed to be involved on the part of the Dodge Ram driver. Multiple agencies responded to the scene, including Randolph Fire, Cannon Falls EMS, and Life Link air medical services.
