Philip Butler Injured in Crow Wing County Car Crash

On August 8, 2025, at 2:09 p.m., a collision occurred at the intersection of Highway 18 and Nokay Lake Road in Nokay Lake Township, Crow Wing County, Minnesota. A 2010 Nissan Altima, driven by Philip Butler, 77, of Garrison, Minnesota, was traveling eastbound on Highway 18 when it collided with a 2015 Ford F250, driven by Michael David Amerud, 77, of Brainerd, Minnesota, which was crossing the highway from County Road 8. Butler sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to CRMC Hospital for treatment. Amerud reported no injuries.The incident took place under dry road conditions and is under investigation by the Minnesota State Patrol, with assistance from the Crow Wing County Sheriff’s Office and North Ambulance. No alcohol was involved, and both drivers were wearing seat belts at the time of the crash.
