Porsha Sapp Dies in Edmonds Ferry Dock Accident
On June 17, 2025, Porsha Sapp, a 45-year-old resident of Lakewood, Washington, perished in a vehicular accident near the Edmonds ferry terminal. The incident occurred when a car, evading law enforcement, drove off the dock into Puget Sound at high speed. Sapp was one of two fatalities, alongside a 48-year-old woman from Auburn. Three other individuals sustained injuries, including the 29-year-old male driver, who survived and is currently in custody with a record of 17 prior arrests.
The event unfolded after Washington State Patrol troopers attempted to stop the vehicle for exceeding 120 mph on Interstate 5. The driver eluded the initial pursuit, which was subsequently terminated. Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies later located the car and resumed the chase, only for it to end when the vehicle plunged into approximately 40 feet of water. Despite rescue attempts by officers, Sapp and the second victim were pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation remains ongoing, with potential charges pending against the driver.
