Rochester Resident Dies in Fatal Crash in Grays Harbor County
A tragic single-vehicle crash claimed the life of a Rochester resident in southeast Grays Harbor County on Tuesday, May 13, 2025. The incident occurred just before 9 p.m. on State Route 12 near Oakville, west of Rochester, as reported by the Washington State Patrol. The driver, a 57-year-old man, was traveling eastbound at milepost 34 when he lost control of the vehicle, causing it to veer off the roadway to the right and collide with a rock wall. The vehicle then crossed to the left, ultimately coming to rest on the westbound right shoulder.
Emergency services responded promptly, transporting both occupants to nearby medical facilities. The passenger, 55-year-old Teresa F. Dye, succumbed to her injuries at Tacoma General Hospital, while the driver received treatment for his injuries at Summit Pacific Medical Center in Elma. The vehicle was declared a total loss, and no other individuals or vehicles were involved in the incident.
