Tragic Accident Claims Life of 92-Year-Old Virginia Fisher, Leaves Son Darin Seriously Injured in St. George

On May 13, 2025, a heartbreaking incident unfolded near the intersection of Mall Drive and Red Cliffs Drive in St. George, Utah, claiming the life of 92-year-old Virginia Fisher and leaving her son, Darin Fisher, with severe injuries. The accident, classified by authorities as a "courtesy trap" collision, occurred when a driver, waved through the intersection by an oncoming vehicle, failed to ensure all lanes were clear. This oversight resulted in a T-bone crash that propelled a vehicle off the road, striking the Fishers as they stood on the sidewalk, having just disembarked from a bus to run errands.

Virginia Fisher, a cherished mother and grandmother, succumbed to her injuries days later, her body unable to withstand the extensive damage, which included a broken shoulder, eight fractured ribs, and severely injured legs. Darin Fisher, who served as her caretaker, sustained a broken neck and scalp injuries but has since been released from the hospital. The family, reeling from the loss, remembers Virginia as a spirited woman who worked at Disneyland for years. Her grandson, Dallas Richardson, mourned, "She could have lived another 10 years," while grappling with concerns for Darin’s future, as he had been living with his mother in an assisted living facility.
