Roger Tillery Killed in Sylvester DUI Crash

On February 7, 2025, a devastating chain reaction crash in Sylvester, Georgia, resulted in the death of Roger Tillery, a 74-year-old veteran and esteemed member of the Warriors of Faith Motorcycle Ministry. The Georgia State Patrol reports that the incident occurred when Gary Curry, allegedly driving under the influence, failed to yield on Carter Road, triggering a collision involving three vehicles. Tillery, who was operating a motorcycle, struck Curry’s car, and a third driver subsequently collided with Tillery’s motorcycle, leading to his fatal injuries. Another motorcyclist involved in the crash sustained injuries and remains hospitalized. Curry now faces serious charges, including DUI, driving with a suspended license, failure to yield, two counts of serious injury by vehicle, first-degree vehicular homicide, and distracted driving.

The loss of Tillery has deeply affected the Warriors of Faith Motorcycle Ministry, where he was a cherished member. Pete Tucker, president of the organization, expressed the collective grief, stating, “It was devastating to all of us. All of us are heartbroken and sad and just sick that this happened. We just pray that justice is actually done where it needs to be done, but we are also praying just like Mr. Tillery would do. He would forgive them and we do also.” In response, the ministry is organizing fundraising initiatives and memorial efforts to honor Tillery’s legacy, reflecting his spirit of forgiveness and community.
