Samson Isom Fatally Struck by Vehicle in Aurora Township: Investigation Underway

On June 2, 2025, at approximately 4:20 a.m., a fatal collision occurred near the intersection of Farnsworth Avenue and Summit Avenue in Aurora Township, Illinois. Samson Isom, a resident of Aurora, was walking southbound on Farnsworth Avenue along the fog line when he was struck by a 2017 GMC work van traveling in the same direction. The driver, identified as 36-year-old Kyle Zaluski, also of Aurora, was operating the vehicle at the time of the incident. Isom sustained life-threatening injuries and was transported to Rush Copley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. Zaluski was taken to Ascension Mercy Hospital with injuries reported as non-life-threatening.

The Kane County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an investigation into the crash. Current information does not indicate whether drugs or alcohol were factors in the incident, and no citations have been issued to date.
