Samuel Fry Involved in Fatal Car Accident in Hood County, Texas
On May 23, 2025, Samuel Fry, 34, was a passenger in a 2024 Kia Telluride involved in a fatal car accident on Farm-to-Market Road in Hood County, Texas. The incident occurred around 10:30 p.m. when a 2004 Ford Explorer Pickup, driven by Korbin Williams, 18, lost control, crossed the double yellow lines, and collided with the Kia. Jose Hernandez, 18, a passenger in the pickup, died from injuries sustained in the crash. Samuel Fry’s 2-year-old daughter, Amayah Fry, was also in the Kia and was transported to Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth. Her condition has not been disclosed. The Texas Department of Public Safety continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the collision.
Samuel Fry, a resident of Lubbock, was among the occupants of the Kia driven by Marlen Banuelos, 34, also from Lubbock. Reports indicate that all individuals in the Kia, including the toddler in a child safety seat, were wearing seatbelts at the time of the accident. The crash, which occurred on a stretch of FM 4 with a 70 mph speed limit, involved three Mineral Wells High School students in the opposing vehicle, one of whom did not survive.
