Sandra Fossen Injured in Pope County Car Accident

On July 17, 2025, Sandra Fossen, a 64-year-old resident of Benson, Minnesota, sustained non-life-threatening injuries in a car accident in Pope County, Minnesota. The Minnesota State Patrol reported that Fossen was driving southbound on Minnesota Highway 29 in a Chevrolet Suburban when she swerved to avoid a head-on collision with a northbound vehicle that had crossed the center line. This action caused her SUV to roll over at approximately 8:16 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 29 and 258th Street in Blue Mounds Township, south of Starbuck, Minnesota. Road conditions were dry at the time of the incident.Fossen was transported to Glacial Ridge Hospital in Glenwood for treatment. The report indicates she was wearing a seat belt, and alcohol was not a factor in the crash. The oncoming vehicle was identified as a Chevrolet Equinox. Responding agencies included the Minnesota State Patrol, Pope County Sheriff's Office, Starbuck Police Department, and Glacial Ridge Ambulance, all of whom assisted at the scene. The investigation into the circumstances of the accident remains ongoing.
