Tragic Pedestrian Accident Claims Life of Jaxin Lee in Edwards County

On the evening of April 25, 2025, a devastating accident unfolded in Edwards County, Illinois, claiming the life of 22-year-old Jaxin W. Lee, a Grayville resident and former Albion native. The incident occurred around 10:15 p.m. along Illinois Route 130 northbound at East 1725 North Road, where a pickup truck struck Lee as he was walking in the roadway just south of the intersection. According to the preliminary findings of Illinois State Police Troop 9, Lee suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by Edwards County Coroner Mark Curtis.

The driver of the pickup truck, identified only as a resident of West Salem, has not had their name disclosed by authorities at this time. The intersection was closed for several hours to allow for a thorough investigation, with all lanes reopening by approximately 3:15 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2025. Illinois State Police Troop 9 remains actively engaged in examining the circumstances of this tragic event.
