On July 23, 2025, at approximately 4:08 p.m., a fatal five-vehicle collision occurred on State Road 92 in Lake Stevens, Washington. Steven C. Prussel, a 61-year-old resident of Snohomish, Washington, was driving a 2016 Ford Fusion eastbound when his vehicle was struck by another eastbound vehicle driven by Gary Lindell. The impact caused Prussel’s vehicle to collide with two additional eastbound cars before crossing into oncoming traffic and striking a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction.Prussel was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office. Lindell and the driver of the oncoming vehicle sustained injuries and were transported to Providence Hospital for treatment. All parties involved were wearing seatbelts, and the Washington State Patrol has confirmed that neither drugs nor alcohol were contributing factors. The investigation into the cause of the collision remains ongoing.
