Zihan Ladha Fatally Struck in Pedestrian Collision in Palatine, Illinois on August 13, 2025

On the evening of August 13, 2025, Zihan S. Ladha, a 38-year-old resident of Palatine, Illinois, was fatally injured after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Northwest Highway near Wilson Street. The incident occurred shortly before 8:30 p.m. According to preliminary reports from the Palatine Police Department, Ladha was crossing the highway on foot, outside of a designated crosswalk, when he was struck by a northbound gray Buick Enclave.

Emergency responders arrived on the scene to find Ladha unresponsive in the roadway. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he died two days later from his injuries. The 81-year-old male driver remained on the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Authorities noted that Ladha was wearing dark clothing at the time of the collision.
