Todd Michael Risa Injured in Three-Vehicle Crash at Highway 23 and 160th Ave in Sandnes Township, Yellow Medicine County – January 19, 2026

Todd Michael Risa, 63, of Clarkfield, Minnesota, was involved in a three-vehicle collision on January 19, 2026, at the intersection of Highway 23 and 160th Avenue in Sandnes Township, Yellow Medicine County. The crash was reported at approximately 12:14 p.m. on dry roadway conditions. According to authorities, a 2013 Lincoln MKX traveling westbound crossed into the eastbound lane, sideswiped a semi-truck, and then collided head-on with a 2024 Ram pickup driven by Risa.

Risa sustained non-life-threatening injuries. He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, and alcohol was not suspected to be a factor. The driver of the Lincoln, 40-year-old Katie Elizabeth Leslie of Sauk Centre, was transported to Avera Marshall Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The driver of the 2022 Peterbilt tractor, 49-year-old John David Wright of Brandon, South Dakota, was not injured. Local sheriff’s offices assisted at the scene.
