Dujuan Cole Dies at Federal Correctional Institution in El Reno, Oklahoma, January 22, 2026

On January 22, 2026, Dujuan Cole, a 44-year-old inmate, was found unresponsive at the Federal Correctional Institution in El Reno, Oklahoma, and later pronounced dead at a local hospital. Cole had been in custody at the facility since the previous day, following a sentencing in the Southern District of Illinois to a 120-month term for distributing methamphetamine.

Federal Bureau of Prisons officials reported that staff initiated life-saving measures immediately upon discovering Cole at approximately 12:20 p.m. Emergency medical services were called, but Cole did not survive. The Federal Bureau of Investigation has been notified, and the circumstances of his death are under formal investigation. Officials confirmed that no other inmates, staff, or members of the public were harmed in the incident.
