On January 22, 2026, Ty Curtis, a 55-year-old resident of Puyallup, was killed in a traffic collision on state Route 702 near its intersection with state Route 507 in McKenna, Washington. According to the Washington State Patrol, Curtis was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes when he was struck by a vehicle.
