Abigale Fugett Identified as Victim in Fatal Pedestrian Accident in Johnsburg, Illinois – October 27, 2025

Authorities have identified 23-year-old Abigale Fugett of Johnsburg as the pedestrian killed after being struck by a vehicle on the evening of October 27, 2025. According to the McHenry County Coroner’s Office, the collision occurred around 7:26 p.m. near the intersection of Running Brook Farm and North Richmond Road. Fugett was transported by the McHenry Township Fire Protection District to Northwestern Medicine McHenry Hospital, where she was later pronounced deceased.

An autopsy is scheduled for Friday as investigators from the coroner’s office, Johnsburg Police Department, and the fire district continue to examine the incident. Police confirmed that the driver involved is cooperating fully with authorities. Richmond Road, also known as Route 31, remained closed between Running Brook Farm and Shoppers Drive for approximately four hours during the investigation.
