On September 25, 2025, a two-vehicle crash occurred on Highway 44 near Union Ridge Drive in Union Township, Houston County, Minnesota. The collision involved a 2017 Nissan Pathfinder and a 2006 Subaru Baja, both traveling northbound when the vehicles made contact under dry road conditions.

Alisabeth Marie Moran, a 20-year-old passenger from Spring Grove, Minnesota, was injured in the incident. She sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Emplify in La Crosse, Wisconsin for medical evaluation. No other injuries were reported among the drivers involved.
