Amber Czech Killed in Workplace Assault in Cokato, Minnesota on November 12, 2025

Authorities in Wright County have confirmed the death of 20-year-old Amber Czech of Hutchinson following a violent assault at her workplace in Cokato, Minnesota. Deputies responded to a 911 call shortly after 6 a.m. on November 12, 2025, and found Czech at her work station with severe head trauma. Despite immediate lifesaving efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene. A coworker, 40-year-old David Bruce Delong, was taken into custody and later charged with second-degree murder after investigators reviewed surveillance footage showing the attack.

Court documents indicate that Delong struck Czech multiple times with a sledgehammer and later admitted to authorities that he had planned the assault. Czech, a welder who had recently graduated from Alexandria Technical & Community College, was described by family and faculty as hardworking, dedicated, and respected within her field.
