Amber Czech Killed in Workplace Assault in Cokato, Minnesota on November 12, 2025

Authorities in Wright County have confirmed the death of 20-year-old Amber Czech of Hutchinson following a violent assault at her workplace in Cokato, Minnesota. Deputies responded to a 911 call shortly after 6 a.m. on November 12, 2025, and found Czech at her work station with severe head trauma. Despite immediate lifesaving efforts, she was pronounced dead at the scene. A coworker, 40-year-old David Bruce Delong, was taken into custody and later charged with second-degree murder after investigators reviewed surveillance footage showing the attack.

Court documents indicate that Delong struck Czech multiple times with a sledgehammer and later admitted to authorities that he had planned the assault. Czech, a welder who had recently graduated from Alexandria Technical & Community College, was described by family and faculty as hardworking, dedicated, and respected within her field. Production at the facility has been suspended for the week as employees and investigators continue to address the aftermath of the incident.
