Benjamin Floyd Castagneri Injured in Mountain Iron Highway 169 Collision on January 29, 2026 – Vehicle Fails to Yield

On January 29, 2026, in Mountain Iron, Minnesota, Benjamin Floyd Castagneri was injured in a traffic collision at the intersection of Highway 169 and Rock Ridge Drive. According to authorities, a 2022 Buick Encore, traveling northbound, attempted a left turn onto Rock Ridge Drive without yielding to oncoming traffic. The vehicle collided with Castagneri’s southbound 2013 Ford Focus, which had proceeded through a green light.

Benjamin Floyd Castagneri, 48, of Chisholm, Minnesota, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to Essentia Health Virginia for treatment. The driver of the Buick, 70-year-old Cathy Renee Lamke, was also treated for non-life-threatening injuries. Snow and ice were reported as contributing factors, and all occupants were restrained by seat belts. Emergency services from Virginia Police, Saint Louis County Sheriff, and Mountain Iron Fire assisted at the scene.
