Bria Allen Dies in Gurnee, Illinois Head-On Crash Amid Snowstorm on November 9, 2025
On November 9, 2025, Bria Allen, a 29-year-old resident of Evanston, Illinois, was fatally involved in a two-vehicle head-on collision on Grand Avenue over Interstate 94 in Gurnee. The incident occurred at approximately 8:54 p.m. during the first snowstorm of the season. According to authorities, Allen was driving a 2007 Ford Focus eastbound when a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban traveling westbound lost control on a patch of ice while attempting a lane change. The Suburban crossed the center median, striking Allen’s vehicle head-on and forcing it into a roadside ditch.
Allen was pronounced dead at the scene, with the Lake County Coroner’s Office reporting blunt force trauma as the cause of death. A 29-year-old Waukegan woman and her two children, aged 5 years and 8 months, were transported to local hospitals with injuries. No further injuries were reported. The Gurnee Police Department, in conjunction with the Major Crash Assistance Team, is conducting a formal investigation into the circumstances of the crash, highlighting the hazards of winter driving conditions.
