Bryan Starkweather Fatally Injured in Irondequoit Motorcycle Crash Following Police Pursuit

On August 3, 2025, at approximately 12:14 p.m., a fatal motorcycle crash occurred on Lakeshore Boulevard near the Durand Eastman Beach parking lot in Irondequoit, Monroe County, New York. Bryan Starkweather, a 24-year-old male, was operating a 2006 Suzuki motorcycle when an Irondequoit Police Department officer attempted to stop him for speeding on Titus Avenue. Starkweather failed to stop, leading to a pursuit that was temporarily halted when officers lost visual contact near Sweet Fern Road. Subsequently, another officer located the motorcycle after it collided with a Nissan SUV, resulting in Starkweather’s death at the scene.The New York State Attorney General’s Office is conducting a full investigation into the crash and the preceding police pursuit.
