Calvin Emmet Crouse Injured in Three-Vehicle Crash on Highway 371 in Baxter, Minnesota on January 8, 2026

Calvin Emmet Crouse, 40, of Baxter, Minnesota, was injured Thursday morning in a multi-vehicle collision on northbound Highway 371 near Pine Beach Road in Crow Wing County. The crash occurred at approximately 7:36 a.m. under snowy and icy road conditions and involved a Ford F-150, a Jeep Patriot, and a commercial box truck, according to state authorities.

Investigators reported that the Ford F-150, which had been traveling in a left turn lane, moved into the left northbound lane and struck the Jeep Patriot driven by Crouse. The impact forced the Jeep into a box truck traveling ahead. Airbags deployed in both the Jeep and the Ford. Crouse sustained non-life-threatening injuries and did not require transport to a medical facility. Three child passengers in the Jeep, all wearing seat belts, were taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Brainerd with non-life-threatening injuries. No alcohol was suspected, and the incident remains documented as weather-related.
