Kaleb B. Marshall Injured in Suspected DUI Crash on Yelm Highway Southeast in Thurston County, Washington on January 8, 2026
A suspected impaired-driving collision on Yelm Highway Southeast sent a young man to the hospital early Thursday morning, according to the Washington State Patrol. The crash occurred at approximately 5:17 a.m. near milepost 12, when a westbound GMC Terrain struck a Mazda 3 while attempting to pass. The impact forced the Mazda off the roadway, where it collided with a tree stump. The GMC came to rest on the shoulder following the crash.
Kaleb B. Marshall, 24, of Graham, Washington, was identified as the driver of the Mazda and sustained injuries requiring transport to Providence St. Peter Hospital. Authorities reported that the driver of the GMC was taken into custody and booked into the Thurston County Jail on suspicion of DUI and vehicular assault. The investigation remains ongoing as officials continue to review the circumstances surrounding the collision.
