Chad Williams Killed in Workplace Accident in Macon, Georgia, January 3, 2026

On January 3, 2026, Chad Williams, a 45-year-old employee of Ryland Environmental from Dry Branch, Georgia, was fatally struck by a company trash truck in Macon. The incident occurred at approximately 10:13 a.m. at the intersection of Hartley Avenue and Ridge Avenue when the vehicle, a 2022 Mack Terrapro, was reversing. Williams was positioned behind the truck at the time and sustained severe injuries. He was transported to a local emergency room but was pronounced deceased at 10:43 a.m. by the Bibb County Coroner, Leon Jones.

The Bibb County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that the driver of the truck was operating in reverse when the collision occurred.
