Kyleigh Hickerson Killed in Two-Car Crash Near Tecumseh, Oklahoma on January 4, 2026

On January 4, 2026, a two-vehicle collision at an intersection near Tecumseh, Oklahoma, resulted in the death of Kyleigh Hickerson, a 19-year-old resident of Mounds. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported the crash occurred around 6:16 p.m. in Pottawatomie County when a southbound vehicle on Bethel Road failed to stop at a stop sign and was struck by an eastbound vehicle traveling on State Highway 9. One of the vehicles involved rolled over following the impact.

Hickerson was a passenger in the southbound vehicle and was pronounced dead as a result of her injuries. Authorities stated that both drivers, additional passengers in both vehicles, and several juveniles sustained injuries, with three individuals transported to the hospital. Troopers confirmed all occupants were wearing seatbelts at the time of the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
