Cheeramkulathu Jobgeevarghese (Job Kurian) Killed in Pedestrian Collision in Waukegan, Illinois on November 14, 2025

On November 14, 2025, a fatal pedestrian collision occurred on York House Road near Newcastle Court in Waukegan, Illinois, resulting in the death of 64-year-old resident Cheeramkulathu Jobgeevarghese, also known as Job Kurian. According to the Waukegan Police Department, Jobgeevarghese was walking in the roadway at approximately 10:17 p.m. when he was struck by at least one vehicle. Reports indicate that additional vehicles may have been involved, though the circumstances remain under investigation.

First responders from the Waukegan Fire Department and the Lake County Coroner’s Office located Jobgeevarghese unresponsive at the scene, where he was pronounced deceased. One vehicle remained on-site following the impact. The Waukegan Police Major Crash Unit continues to examine the contributing factors, including visibility and traffic conditions at the time of the incident.
