Colin Blaine Johnson Injured in Mankato Highway 169 Collision on December 1, 2025

On December 1, 2025, Colin Blaine Johnson, a 32-year-old resident of Mankato, Minnesota, sustained non-life-threatening injuries in a two-vehicle collision on northbound Highway 169 near the Northstar Bridge in Blue Earth County. The incident occurred when Johnson’s 2024 Dodge Durango approached a vehicle that had previously spun out. A 2015 Kia Optima, driven by 24-year-old Hailey Jean McDonald of Lake Crystal, collided with Johnson’s vehicle under wet road conditions.

Emergency responders, including the North Mankato Police and Mankato Fire Department, attended the scene. Johnson was transported to MCHS-Mankato for medical evaluation. Both drivers were reported to have been wearing seat belts, and no alcohol was involved in the incident. The crash underscores the hazards posed by wet road conditions and the importance of maintaining vigilance when approaching previously affected traffic areas.
