Floyd Jones Injured in Head-On Collision on U.S. Highway 165 – Chicot County, AR, October 15, 2025

On October 15, 2025, a two-vehicle collision occurred on U.S. Highway 165 in rural Chicot County, Arkansas. According to the Arkansas Department of Public Safety, a northbound 2015 Mazda crossed the centerline and struck a southbound 2020 Mack truck. The crash took place at approximately 5:20 a.m. under clear skies and dry road conditions.

Floyd Jones, a 79-year-old resident of Montrose, Arkansas, was identified as the driver of the Mack truck and sustained injuries as a result of the collision. He was transported to Chicot Memorial for medical treatment. The driver of the Mazda, Dino Salinas, age 57 of Crosbyton, Texas, was pronounced dead at the scene. The investigation into the incident was conducted by Trooper David J. Menotti of the Arkansas State Police.
