Jack F. Haworth Killed in Benton County, Washington Two-Vehicle Crash on January 15, 2026
An early-morning collision on a fog-covered stretch of Highway 221 in rural Benton County claimed the life of an 81-year-old man Thursday, according to the Washington State Patrol. The crash occurred around 6:45 a.m. near milepost 8, approximately eight miles north of Paterson. Authorities reported that a Ford Expedition traveling north struck a Toyota Tacoma from behind, forcing the pickup off the roadway and causing it to roll over.
Jack F. Haworth, 81, of Prosser, was identified as the driver of the Tacoma and was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the crash. The driver of the Ford Expedition, a man from Sunnyside, suffered injuries but did not require hospitalization. Investigators continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision, and no information regarding potential charges has been released.
