Ronald Wills Killed in McHenry Pedestrian Crash on Elm Street (Route 120) at Meadow Lane – January 15, 2026
Ronald Wills, 64, of McHenry, Illinois, died following a pedestrian collision on the evening of January 15, 2026. The incident occurred on Elm Street, also designated as Route 120, just east of Meadow Lane. Authorities reported that Wills was attempting to cross the roadway when he was struck by a red 2008 Ford Focus traveling eastbound. A second vehicle had reportedly stopped in an effort to avoid Wills before being hit by the Ford.
Wills was transported to Northwestern Medicine Hospital in McHenry, where he later succumbed to his injuries. Officials stated that alcohol and drugs were not considered factors in the crash. The McHenry County Regional Crash Assistance Team responded to the scene and continues to examine the circumstances surrounding the collision.
