James Lane Critically Injured in Courtland, MN Car Crash on January 16, 2026

On January 16, 2026, James Lane and his fiancée Naomi were involved in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 14 near Courtland, Minnesota. The icy conditions caused both vehicles to lose control, resulting in severe injuries to Lane, including a broken neck. Naomi sustained multiple fractures while 38 weeks pregnant with their third child. Their young child, as well as the unborn baby, were reported to be unharmed.

The other driver, a 21-year-old woman from North Mankato, reported no injuries. Lane’s recovery will prevent him from working for an extended period, placing significant strain on the family. His employer, Stevensen Siding, has established a GoFundMe to assist with medical and living expenses. The incident underscores the dangers of winter travel in the region and the vulnerability of families involved in serious roadway accidents.
