James S. Khezri and Elham Javadi Killed in U.S. Highway 2 Head-On Crash Near Gold Bar, Washington on February 12, 2026

A multi-vehicle crash along U.S. Highway 2 near Gold Bar on the evening of February 12, 2026, left three people dead and two others injured, according to the Washington State Patrol.

The collision occurred at approximately 5:17 p.m. near milepost 31, roughly two miles northeast of Gold Bar and west of Stevens Pass. Authorities reported that a Ford Fusion traveling westbound crossed the centerline and struck an eastbound Ford F-150 head-on. The force of the impact caused both vehicles to catch fire. A third vehicle, a Honda CR-V, then collided with the Ford F-150 and came to rest in a ditch along the eastbound shoulder. James S. Khezri, 56, of Woodinville, Washington, was identified as the driver of the Ford F-150 and was pronounced dead at the scene. Elham Javadi was also reported among those who lost their lives in the crash. Two occupants of the Honda CR-V survived and were transported to Providence Medical Center for treatment. The circumstances surrounding the collision remain under investigation by authorities.
