Jeffrey Wayne Evenson Involved in Warsaw Township I-35 Crash on December 2, 2025: Semi-Truck Driver Uninjured

On December 2, 2025, Jeffrey Wayne Evenson, 58, of Sauk Rapids, Minnesota, was involved in a multi-vehicle collision on southbound Interstate 35 at milepost 55 in Warsaw Township, Rice County. Evenson was operating a 2025 Peterbilt semi-truck when a 2016 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup, driven by 19-year-old Ava Margaret Cottrell of Medford, lost control on snow- and ice-covered roadways and collided with the semi-truck following an initial impact with a cable barrier.

Despite the force of the collision, Evenson sustained no injuries and was not transported to a medical facility. Both drivers and the passenger of the pickup were properly restrained, with airbags deployed in the Dodge Ram. Emergency response was provided by Rice County Sheriff’s Office, Faribault Police and Fire, and North Ambulance. Authorities reported no alcohol involvement and continue to review road conditions and other factors contributing to the incident.
